deanothehunter 34
got new permission this week the farmer said ok i,ll give you a go i know its sometimes difficult to get rabbits with air rifles unless your hidden up in ambush.....so he said have a go see how you get on this afternoon, so i rushed home to get gear but only had 3 hours of light left so anyway i got to the spot saw a few sitting out memorised their position and walked to within 25 to 30 yrds of where they were and hid up in hedge thinking come on i have to get some....... then after 10 mins first one showed 30yrds away but in the rush to get one mis judged it and missed arggggggh:wallbash: anyway he was opposite where i was sitting as the ones i saw earlier were along the the hedge where i was sat but further along so waited once again and then another showed he knew something was up but within a few mins settled and started to feed i aimed a tad under the eye as it was just under my zero and down he went yes 1st one in the bag and quickly got him and sat back down another 20 mins past and the same one i missed first off came back out or if it wer,nt him it come out in exactly same spot this one too was just under my zero range and ajusted to suit whack he too fell .....im now thinking im on a roll waited for ages but no more showed but right down the hedge about 100 yards more were fedding so decided to move...i walked down within range but they hopped in hedge so once again i sat and waited by this time light was almost gone then just saw the outline of one run out and start feeding through the scope it was just perfect so aimed and guessed exactly 30 yrds my zero yes i was right he too fell without a twitch when i picked up it had past through the eye...i rang farmer and said i got 3 he was happy and said i can come when ever i can and offered more land if i do a good job as the land he does,nt own is,nt worth knowing about theres thousands of acres Edited October 14, 2010 by deanothehunter 1 Quote Link to post

Sweeney-Todd 208
Hiya Deano. Congrats on the new permission mate, good new's. The Farmer got the results he wanted too, good shooting. Might pay next time your in a static position, to stay put after you drop a bunny, as they will pick up on you trudging back and forward, make the others nervous to come out and feed. SP for some good shooting buddy ATB. Bill. Quote Link to post

deanothehunter 34
cheers all , i always used to leave them where they dropped but over the years i have had 3 foxes run off with the odd one this annoys me its as if they are lying in wait for a free meal i know its not and everyday occurance but it makes you nervous on leaving them till you pack up lol.......anyone else had this happen ?
